Get Help with Rising Utility Bills: Operation Fuel’s Winter Assistance Program this 2025

With inflation driving up the cost of living, many Connecticut households are struggling to keep up with higher utility bills this winter.

Fortunately, Operation Fuel has launched its 2025 Winter Energy Assistance Program to provide much-needed relief.

The program offers up to $500 in emergency assistance to eligible residents, helping to cover utility bills or fuel deliveries during these challenging times.

Who’s Eligible?

The program is designed to help households that are struggling with utility and energy costs.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Income: You must earn up to 75% of the state’s median income.
  • Documents: You'll need to provide recent pay stubs or income documentation for the past 4 weeks to verify eligibility.

In addition to utility bill assistance, Operation Fuel has partnered with Aquarion Water Company, Connecticut Water Company, and the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) to provide direct support for water bills to eligible customers.

How to Apply?

The application process is simple and flexible, designed to make it as easy as possible for you to get the help you need. You can apply:

  • Online: Submit your application via the official Operation Fuel website.
  • In Person: Visit a local fuel bank near you.

There’s no need to face the cold alone this winter. If you qualify, Operation Fuel’s team will guide you through the process and ensure you get the support you deserve.
